Prof. Monique M. Elseviers, PhD

Dr. Monique M. Elseviers is Professor Emerita at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and a global authority in biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical pharmacology. Her academic and institutional career focuses on Drug Utilization Research (DUR) and pharmacoepidemiology, transforming statistical evidence into actionable guidelines to optimize patient safety and polypharmacy management. A prolific author, she has published over 200 indexed scientific articles and is the lead editor of the internationally recognized reference book "Drug Utilization Research: Methods and Applications." Her leadership in the scientific community is supported by a high h-index and over 9,000 citations on platforms such as ScienceDirect. Her profile combines methodological rigor with an executive approach applied to public health, solidifying her influence on the development of operational policies for healthcare and institutional settings at the European level.

Dr. Luciane Cruz Lopes is a pharmacist-biochemist with a doctorate in Clinical Pharmacology. She is a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sorocaba (UNISO), Brazil, where she conducts research and training in evidence synthesis for health policy and health technology assessment. She has collaborated as a consultant for the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization, and for six years coordinated Brazil's National List of Essential Medicines. She currently leads the SERIEMA-EVIPNet Brazil Evidence Center and chairs the Latin American Regional Group (RIG-LATAM) of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology. Her work focuses on the generation and use of scientific evidence to support health decision-making, especially in pharmacology, pharmacoepidemiology, and health technology assessment. She is the author of more than 190 scientific publications and actively participates in national initiatives to strengthen evidence-based public policies and the health technology assessment ecosystem in Brazil.

Prof. Björn Wettermark, PhD

Professor Björn Wettermark is a pharmacist (M.Sc.Pharm) and holds a doctorate in pharmacoepidemiology. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to research on medication utilization, therapeutic adherence, and pharmaceutical policy. He is currently Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology at Uppsala University, Sweden, and a Visiting Professor at Vilnius University. His work focuses on the study of medication use as a tool for health policy formulation, including the evaluation of prescribing quality indicators, international comparisons of medication utilization, adherence to clinical guidelines, and strategies to promote the rational use of medicines. He has held various leadership positions in the Stockholm healthcare system and has served as a scientific advisor to the Swedish Medicines Regulatory Agency. He was also president of the European Drug Utilization Research Group (EuroDURG), the European chapter of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology. He is the author of hundreds of scientific publications and is a leading global authority on medication utilization studies, therapeutic adherence, and the evaluation of pharmaceutical policies.

Dr. Ria Benkő is a clinical pharmacist, researcher, and associate professor at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy, University of Szeged, Hungary, where she earned her pharmacy degree and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her work focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, clinical pharmacology, and drug utilization studies, with a particular interest in analyzing antibiotic use, evaluating prescribing patterns, and promoting the rational use of medicines to support healthcare decision-making. She combines academic activities with clinical practice, promoting the integration of research and healthcare. She has been actively involved in international drug utilization research initiatives and served for over a decade as secretary of the European Drug Utilization Research Group (EuroDURG). In 2025, she was elected president of EuroDURG, becoming the first professional from Central and Eastern Europe to lead this scientific organization dedicated to drug utilization research.

Prof. Mina Tadrous, PharmD PhD

Dr. Mina Tadrous is a pharmacist, pharmacoepidemiologist, and internationally recognized researcher for his contributions to developing real-world evidence for pharmaceutical policy and drug evaluation. He is a professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, an ICES scientist, and co-director of Pharmaceutical Policy and Pharmacy Practice at the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network. His research focuses on drug safety, comparative effectiveness, drug utilization, and the evaluation of health policies using large population-based databases. He currently holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Pharmaceutical Policy and Real-World Evidence, and in 2024 he received the Dr. Maurice McGregor Rising Star Award in Health Technology Assessment from the Canadian Medicines Agency. His work has contributed to the development of public policies aimed at optimizing the safe, effective, and sustainable use of medicines in Canada.

Dr. Jean-Éric Tarride is a health economist and a leading international authority on health technology assessment (HTA) and health economics. He currently serves as Chair of Health Technology Management, Director of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA), and Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. He also directs the Program for Assessment of Technology in Health (PATH), one of the most recognized centers for research on economic evaluation and decision-making in health. His work focuses on developing methods for the economic evaluation of health technologies, the use of real-world evidence, burden of disease studies, and uncertainty management in health technology assessment. Before joining academia, he held leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry, including roles in health economics and market access. He is the author of over 180 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has led numerous research projects aimed at supporting health coverage, financing, and policy decisions in Canada and other countries.
